Not your usual joggers for women

In recent years, joggers have shaken off their sports-only reputation and become a style staple which can be worn with more than sneakers and tees. Our range of womens casual trousers covers everything from skinny sweatpants for women to wide leg styles that can be worn day or night. Whether you love street style but want to keep it cool in a neutral tone or love a quirky look and like to play around with patterns, there’s a jogger style for every woman in our range.

What are joggers?

Also known as sweatpants or jogging bottoms, joggers are classically known as trousers used in sport and exercise. The classic jogger shape has an elasticated waist, is loose fitting on the legs and has elasticated cuffs at the bottom. More recently, slimmer styles have become more popular with a fit that tapers at the bottom without the need for cuffs. Wide leg joggers also have the elasticated waist but have a loose fit, ideal for summer.

Womens sweatpants are generally made from a jersey sweat fabric which offers comfort when exercising. However, just as the shape of these trousers has changed, so have the fabrics. Expect jacquard, silky and even knitted joggers as some of the most exciting designs.

How to wear womens joggers

Once you take away the preconception of joggers as solely sportswear, you can treat them like any other trouser. The most popular way to style this type of trouser is usually with sneakers and a t-shirt or vest. However, choosing a smart pair of trainers can dress it up slightly.

When it comes to wide leg styles, choose a pair of sandals and a cami top in summer. Some of our joggers have tops in matching fabrics, so embrace the pattern and go for the full co-ord.

For slim styles, you can get away with wearing something bigger on top. A ruffled blouse gives a feminine edge while a chunky jumper can create a cosy vibe.

How to wear joggers with heels

Over the last few years, wearing joggers with heels has become super popular. The key to this trend is choosing the right style of joggers. Ones in more formal fabrics like silk, chiffon or jacquard tend to work best as these already have a smarter look to them. Choose a heel that shows off and elongates your ankle such as barely-there sandal heels or a pointed court shoe.

For a smart-casual look, pair with a statement tee tucked into womens high waisted sweatpants. If you want to make the outfit a little more formal, add a blazer to complete your look.

How to size womens sweatpants

Your size in sweatpants or joggers should be the same as any other style of trouser. A lot of our styles have an elasticated waist allowing for room to adjust. To choose the right size, you’ll need your waist, hip and inseam measurements.

  • Waist – measure the narrowest part of your torso which is usually just above your belly button
  • Hips – measure the widest part of your hips
  • Inseam – measure the inside of your leg from your crotch down to the ankle bone

Always use a cloth tape measure as this will give the most accurate reading. Once you have your measurements, check our size guide on each product page to see which size you will need in trousers.
