As your little girl grows up and inevitably takes more of an interest in her own style, a girls’ blazer can be the perfect addition to her wardrobe. Providing a smart aesthetic, they can help your little one feel grown up and important. Whether you prefer an on-trend, printed blazer, or a smarter style, you’ll find it here. But first, check out our guide to the different styles.

What are the different types of girls blazers?

  • Single Breasted – This type of blazer has a single row of buttons and a very narrow overlap at the front. They’re a popular choice of girls’ blazer because they’re so varied, often in print and casual styles but with smarter options too.
  • Double Breasted – This style of little girls’ blazer offers a little further touch of elegance than a single-breasted style. The double row of buttons is inspired by old military and naval jackets. But that doesn’t mean they’re strictly formal, check out our striped double breasted girls blazer which blends the tailored aesthetic with a stunning nautical aesthetic.
  • Printed Blazer – Incredibly popular with youngsters, printed girls’ blazers blend the tailored jacket style with fun and funky prints. If your little one likes to make a statement, one of these could be a perfect choice. For something super fun, consider our pyjama inspired mix-print girls blazer.
  • There are plenty of other styles too, from denim to bolero, and military to asymmetric. Keep your eye on our collection as we frequently have new styles coming straight from design. But whichever style you go for, you’ll want to ensure it fits correctly. Little girls blazers are no different from women’s when it comes to fit. Check out our guide below for some quick tips.

How should a girls’ blazer fit?

  1. Unless you’ve opted for a longline or cropped blazer, the hem of your little girl's blazer should drop close to her hipbone.
  2. It’s important that a young girls blazer fits across the shoulders too. This doesn’t mean tight, rather that there’s no sagging. Make sure your little one can move their arms and turn easily. If not, you’ll probably need a size up.
  3. Unless you’ve opted for an open-front girls blazer, the blazer should button up without the need for pulling. If your little one finds it difficult to close, you’ll need a size up. If the fit looks a little baggy when closed, you probably need a smaller size.
  4. If your little girl is in between sizes, it’s best to go a size up as this is not only easier to adjust but will also ensure longevity.
