From the heart of Amsterdam, Scotch & Soda proudly presents its Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Influences from all over the world are taken to achieve a diverse look which is characteristic for the collections. Scotch & Soda simply wants people to love their clothes and enjoy wearing them.
Highlights
For Spring/Summer 2012, Scotch & Soda created all the must-haves items for your summer wardrobe, with four themes in mind. ‘Plage Privee’ consists of stylish suited looks for a sharp dressed summer style. New sophisticated interpretations give this ‘monsieur provocateur’ a retro edge with French seaside influences. Team relaxed beach pantalons with a tailored voile shirt, indigo bow-tie and espadrilles. This look is easy andchic, striking but simple in mineral colours and tones of white. The ‘Days off, we love Saturdays’-theme takes us back to simpler times, inspired by original workwear. These can’t-live-without basics give you that timeless and authentic look, perfect for a laid-backsummer.
This leads the way into ‘Breton Behaviour’: an honest blue-white-red denim look with French andnautical influences. Combine a breton top with a cable knit cardigan and roll up those weathered denimsto show off your striped socks. Laundered indigo looks are gently washed and faded for a rugged feel. Last but not least, there’s the colour blocking ‘Colour Collisions’ theme. A lively range of garments, tobe bought and worn together for an ultimate summer colour shock. A considered line of high quality items, designed with loveand with great focus on the small details that Maison Scotch is known for. Inspired by a careful blendof New York’s street style, Japan’s innovative design and the ‘je ne sais quoi’ sense of style ofParisiennes, every Maison Scotch piece embodies the natural female elegance represented by thedandelion logo. Creating a collection feels like an endless journey, gathering souvenirs, wonderingaround antique markets looking for vintage treasures and making notes along the way.
A splash of colour
For Spring/Summer 2012, the design team was inspired by long summer nights in the city and tropicalheat. The signature sun-faded colours are mixed with more fresh, bright and bold tones. Splashes ofcolour are sprinkled throughout the collection, on new accessories and labels to make every detail of thegarment rich and special. Like every season our fabrics are inspired from all over the world; delicatewashed silk, French lace, cotton-silk blends, sporty cotton mesh, natural linens and washed twills.
Highlights
The tropical inspiration comes to life in original Hawaiian shirts, dresses with coloured bead details andneon chinos. Great effort went into rich woven tops this season, with fine details like embroideries,ruffles and lace, enhancing the high-summer ethnic look. For the easy days, Maison Scotch hasexpanded the range of graphic tees, with colour accents in hand-drawn graphics and photo prints witha festival touch. New fits like A-line, boxy and cropped fit tees will make you look effortlessly cool.As for bottoms, Maison gives the continuing success of its chino an extra push, by designing new styleslike a chino in over-dye pique quality, a new super soft twill, a dressed skinny fit and an army chino.The pants collection features a diverse range of solid and printed styles, carpenter-like workwear andchic tailored styles inspired by young Parisiennes, alongside easy shorts for bike rides along the pier.When the sun sets and the streets get chilly, Maison offers beautiful jackets and blazers in a consideredpalette of colours, fabrics and details that can’t be missed. For Spring/Summer 2012, Scotch R’belle designed everything a girl needs to look effortlessly cool thisseason, with four key themes in mind.‘Let’s go bananas!’ is all about eye-popping colours and fruity all-over printed beach pants, tops andjumpsuits. R’belle hops from island to island in her blocked leggings, vintage tees and sunhat, collectingtravel badges along the way. At the beach, she tops off her one-shoulder swimsuit with a sarongaround the waist.A ready-styled breton top with a Union Jack skirt and a R’belle bandana around her head; ‘The moon,the stars and the stripes’ is the theme for rock ‘n roll pirate girls. For ‘The Great Escape’ Spring/Summer 2012 collection, the design team imagined how theParisienne travels down under, to spend the summer with friends on the beaches of Melbourne,Australia. Here, her Paris fashion aesthetics meet with the eclectic beach girl style, fit for long bike ridesalong the shore, all-day breakfasts with friends and warm summer nights at the beach. This results in aneffortlessly cool summer collection of well-considered, carefully detailed denim-based garments.
Key fits this season are the Constructed Chino: a new tapered denim chino with inserted tapes at thefront, and the Marie Marine: a slim-fit double waistband pant with worker pockets and twisted sideseams, perfect to be worn with rolled up hems and a pair of flip-flops. Still at the core of theAmsterdams Blauw® collection are the best selling ladies fits Cinq-P, La Parisienne, Mademoiselle andRebelle, available in an array of fabrics and washes. A line of high quality denims, inspired by Japanese andAmerican denim esthetics, but with its own fresh twist. Scotch & Soda likes to focus on the small detailsthat make the big difference; the denims are so well-constructed, you could almost wear theminside-out.
Last season, Amsterdams Blauw was inspired by the London Shoreditch guy. For ‘The LongestBreakfast’ Spring/Summer 2012 collection, the design team imagined how the London Shoreditch guytravels down under, for a relaxing summer in Melbourne. Here, his accordingly dressed style mixeswith the relaxed vibe of outdoor city life; all-day breakfasts with friends, bike rides through the city andnights at the beach. This results in a considered collection of carefully detailed denims in extraordinarywashes.
A key fit this season is the Selby: a new slim tapered denim chino style to be worn with white topsidersand a chambray shirt. Scotch also offers the Denim Chino Short: a cut-off pair of chinos done the denimway. Still at the core of the Amsterdams Blauw® collection are the best selling fits Ralston, Snatch andDean, available in an array of fabrics and washes. Amongst the extraordinary dark, medium and lightwashes, Scotch is particularly proud of the Blue Ray and Sax Wax washes. The Blue Ray is an intensered cast denim with a transparent coating that gives a brilliant purple cast, and the Sax Wax is a greatgreen cast denim with a mirror finish.
There is also a premium selection of denims within the Amsterdams Blauw® line, by the name of LOT22. This collection is specially laundered in Italy using the most premium fabrics and washed only byhand, LOT 22 is the denim laboratory for the design team. The Dean style continues to be thecornerstone of this collection, with innovation in fabric qualities, wash effects and hand repairs thisseason. Another very special LOT 22 experiment is the Selvedge Rail Bang: a radiant 14oz green castdry Japanese selvedge denim, not to be washed until summer 2013!
Besides bottoms, the Amsterdams Blauw® Spring/Summer 2012 collection offers a range ofhandpicked pieces for the essential denim wardrobe. Amsterdams Blauw Spring/Summer 2012
Amsterdams Blauw® is the denim collection of the Amsterdam-based fashion brand Scotch & Soda.The name Amsterdams Blauw (or: Amsterdam Blue) is the colour of paint that was used in the GoldenCentury between 1500-1750 to paint Dutch porcelain. The striking blue colour was obtained by mixingindigo from China and Japan with an oil-based paint. Nowadays, this colour is still widely visible in thestreets of Amsterdam on house number plates and street signs.
Scotch & Soda Amsterdams Blauw® is an ambitious young denim project that draws inspiration fromAmerican and Japanese denim aesthetics. We’re constantly inspired by our great city Amsterdam,which allows us to be free in our approach to things. Amsterdams Blauw® wants to play the maverickcard and be the new and fresh alternative for the denim establishment; we like to portray the collectionas the challenger brand. Limited edition denim: MERCKXXX
Scotch & Soda’s denim label Amsterdams Blauw proudly presents its new limited edition denim: Merckxxx. Paying a grand tribute to the world’s bicycle community, Merckxxx is designed to cater to the needs of heavy communter cyclists. The jeans are named after the world famous cycle champion Eddy Merckx, adding extra x’s referring to the three crosses on the coat of arms of Amsterdam.
The design is a tribute to the international community of fixed gear pundits and bicycle couriers. The best Italian manufacturers stitched reinforced back pockets which easily hold a U-lock. The slim-fit model has a high rise at the back and low rise at the front for cycle comfort, as well as reflecting elements on the inside fabric at the bottom of each leg to ensure night time visibility. The seams, label and handy key chain don the colours of the Tour de France.
The Merckxxx is manufactured from green selvedge dry denim. The design team chose dry denim for two reasons: because the production process of is more sustainable and environment friendly, and because it allows jeans to become entirely unique to their owner: fading and whiskering depends on how you wear, handle and wash the garment. The Merckxxx becomes the owner’s unique masterpiece, simply by wearing it.
This one-off pair of jeans is made to celebrate the international community of fixie riders and cycle couriers. Their authentic style, passion and devotion to quality and aesthetic refinement is shared by Scotch & Soda. Inspired by cyclists, made with devotion, the Merckxxx exists to be shared with the world.

Scotch’s womens label Maison Scotch presents her fourth collection since making her debut for Spring/Summer 2010. Made with Maison’s signature sense of style and our usual tender love and care, every piece embodies the kind of natural female elegance represented by the dandelion logo. In our Amsterdam based design studio ‘Magasin d’une collectionneuse’, we put all our effort into creating unique silhouettes; careful blends of creative design, premium quality materials and a meticulous attention to detail, colour and labelling.
Maison Scotch may be heavily inspired by sophisticated ‘parisiennes’ and their ‘je ne sais quoi’ sense of style, this doesn’t keep us from dashing out all over the world like the dandelion seeds picked up by the wind. Creating a collection feels like an endless journey, gathering souvenirs, wondering around antique markets looking for vintage treasures and making notes along the way. From the edgy street style of New York to the innovative designs seen in Japan, all these influences define Maison Scotch.
Highlights
For this winter season, Maison Scotch concentrated on innovating fabrics and silhouettes. We put a lot of effort into a wide range winter coats, focusing on technical jackets in particular, as we think they will become more important for the future. Next to these we offer beautiful classic styles, fisherman inspired pea coats, military-look parkas and more fashion-forward silhouettes. Fabrics are key as always. We introduced some super new qualities in a variety of wool textures, coated twills and durable nylons to protect you in the cold days.
Another favourite thing about this winter season is the big mixture of all kinds of beautiful textures; waffle knits, soft cashmeres, fine pima cottons, shiny metallic’s, delicate silks, authentic laces, stone washed corduroy & linen blends. We were inspired by the sixties, New York ‘Mad Men’ textures and the colour palette of blush, cinnabar, old nostalgic rose, blueberry, leaf, wine and eucalyptus. While our tastes went to layering and unexpected combinations, our never-out-of-style Breton stripes, well-known check shirts and black & white t-shirt prints remain perfect essentials in this new season.

We are excited to present a beautiful new line of dresses for the upcoming holidays inspired by ‘dix femmes phenomenal’; Maison Scotch’s list of ten exceptional women who developed their own signature style and pure grace. We offer dresses in all our favourite moods; French ‘belles du jour’, 60s Hollywood glamour and 70s bohemian chic. A beautiful feather hair band, bow broche, clutch and black stockings are perfect compliments to these evening looks.
Denim
Maison Scotch will always keep her rock chick aesthetics and offer you eclectic denim pieces with a bohemian edge. Our aim for denim is to achieve a balance between female refinement and a confident natural look. The styles are body-conscious, but still offer surprising silhouettes. This season we revised our best fits such as La Parisienne, Rebelle & Mademoiselle, and updated them in new washes and considered stitching. We have worked on back pockets to perfect the bum. New this season is The Rodin, a modern fit with shifted seams on a baggy model. Also, we felt the time was right to expand the denim collection beyond bottoms: now is the time to wear our denim jacket or dress under your winter coat!

To complete all these stories, Maison Scotch’s accessory collection expanded once again with a variety of scarves, beanies & gloves, a range of nylon & canvas shopper bags, clutches, a notebook, unique skinny leather belts, beautiful refined underwear and a delicate headband. Amsterdams Blauw Fall/Winter 2011/2012
From the heart of our beloved city Amsterdam, Scotch & Soda proudly presents its second Amsterdams Blauw® denim collection: entitled ‘Something about Saturday’. This season’s theme marks the change in denim. The work week is over and come Saturday, men get to drop formal dress codes and change into their favorite attire: a pair of trusty jeans. A welcome relief from a hectic week, time to pause and reflect: this is when the best ideas are born and the quality of our life becomes manifest. The Autumn / Winter 2011 collection was built up around the brick lane boy and the denim gentleman, the idea that these are the kind of guys wearing our jeans.
Our debut Amsterdams Blauw® collection for Spring/Summer 2011 set the tone to the liking of a loyal denim-loving crowd. For the up coming winter season, we continued with our signature fresh approach to denim traditions, free from any heritage-restrictions. Amsterdams Blauw® is purist at heart but we're not afraid to experiment and express our creativity in the small details that we know make the big difference and that Scotch is best known for. You can almost wear our denims inside out, they are so well constructed. A great focus on detail is put into every piece. Look for hidden treasures in Scotch denim like the ‘fly button’ literally a fly embossed onto a button and the signature lucky coin pocket, which actually has a lucky coin for its new owner.
The Autumn/Winter 2011 collection continues to feature mainly five-pocket fits, the slim fit Ralston being our best selling fit ‘our fit of the moment’. Another best seller alongside the Ralston is the Brewer, a worker-style pant with a constructed look, loosely tapered, with a long drop crotch and signature long back pockets. This fit features felled inner and outer seams and is fast becoming an iconic style for Scotch’s denim line.
Signature washings within the collection are Paris-Texas and Borrel Blue. The Paris-Texas was inspired by the iconic movie: dusty tinting, with repairs in L.A.-inspired bright stitching colors. For the Borrel Blue, we used a 24-dip indigo with no tinting, hence the blue, blue colour. The inspiration for Borrell Blue came from the 1920’s at the start of Brick Lane when the workers in the factorys would wear their blue overalls.
There is also a premium selection of denims within the Amsterdams Blauw® line. Consisting of 4 fits and 6 washes this fine selection goes by the name of LOT 22. This collection is specially laundered in Italy using the most premium fabrics and washed only by hand, LOT 22 is the denim laboratory for the design team. An experimental room where they can test new washing ideas before they make it to the main collection the following season. The Quaker (the Dutch pronunciation 'kweker' means farmer), is one of the premium denims within this range. Inspired by the old Dutch farmer pant, the Quaker fit has details like a hook-and-eye closure and a single pocket in the back, which farmers referred to as the 'payment day pocket' back in the days.
Apart from a wide range of denims, ‘Something about Saturday’ features denim shirts, topped with jackets and complemented with great outdoor waistcoats. This dressed up aficionado denim collection is designed for men who want the best out of everything, enjoying big city life as much as the great outdoors, fresh cutting edge design as much as vintage style and make. The Saturday in denim makes all men equal in their quest for the perfect denim look to underscore their monumental individuality. Denims start from just 89 euros and go up to 179 euros. The Autumn/Winter collection will be available in stores from July 2011.

Scotch Shrunk Fall/Winter 2011/2012
Scotch Shrunk took the world by surprise and flipped it up side down when it debuted in the spring of 2008. The Scotch & Soda team played a wild card by basically shrinking their men’s line to boy sizes and spicing it up. Scotch Shrunk has been ahead of the game ever since.
Crashing the Gentlemen's club
This story takes place in a ‘mad mad men's world' and our hero dresses the part rocking a typical French look, combining a tuxedo shirt with worker suspenders. His attitude is 'Let the good times roll' and he is at it with verve. When he's in his velour blazer, combined with garment dyed chino sweats, he is mighty comfortable looking ‘très cool’. And he knows he's got the London City edge whenever he wears his Shrunk engineered woollen pant and his oversized herringbone bow tie. One day he discovered that he was nowhere without his Shrunk duffle coat and granddad tee, he wears them constantly every since, however always in a different way, different from others and different from the other day. As a self-conscious little gentleman, he likes to add a touch of colour and some suave Shrunk accessories like his infamous granddad hat, star cufflinks or, just the same, the tough Scotch Shrunk tattoo transfers he found on his hang tags.
Patchwork army
On his peaceful battle to conquer his globe he wrecked the camouflage canvasses and other raw materials to the max. Parts of his clothes are fading, creasing or tearing, only to be repaired beautifully with some patchwork, so as to hang on to his favourite worn-down pants, quilted jacket and Shrunk canvas parka. He even takes precautions adding leather elbow patches so his shirt, sweats and pulls will live to see yet another adventure. He keeps fond memories of his trip over the mountains in South America, where the cold taught him to wear his sun bleached colours and heavy knits while collecting ancient Inca patterns for linings and details. Paint splatters mark his beautiful coloured chino. Oil stains on his Scotch Shrunk shirt. If not etched directly onto his clothes, all his experiences end up jotted down in his little sketchbook.
A little bit of country, a little bit of rock 'n roll
He ain’t no rider, but he sure looks like one in his Scotch Shrunk rocker tee, oil washed shirt and yarn dyed worker chino. The anatomy of life is his biggest inspiration. He's wild at heart, but all he wants is to save the whale, the peacock and the tipi. Especially when the winters are cold, his brave heart keeps luring him into these adventures. So he takes his Scotch waxed canvas jacket and earns that badge for every epic passage of his life. Right now he’s living the cowboy dream throwing on a Shrunk garment dyed polo with suspenders and heavy sweats with lots of knitted details. To soak up the faintest beam of sunlight he wears earthy tones, faux fur and messy hair.

You always keep me warm… I want to light a fire, but I can't find wood, fire rocks or even matches. I could create a tipi shelter. But it's so much easier to wear my woolly favourites.” A line of handpicked warm and fuzzy Shrunk essentials to snuggle up in on those cold, stormy winter days. Scotch R'belle Fall/Winter 2011/2012
Scotch just introduced Scotch R’Belle for Spring Summer 2011 and already she is on to her new wardrobe for winter. Bonjour je m’appelle Mademoiselle R’Belle! Because if you’re only half as cool as your brother Shrunk you’ll make lot’s of girls look awfully cute like the R’Belle you are. We know you will be busy reading tales into the stars so here’s what the Scotch team prepared for you.
The Boy in me
Mademoiselle R'Belle meets the boy inside. Wearing her bow tie and beret she rocks the Paris look, most of the times including the ever fashionable Breton stripe. Polka dots, love shots and big block texts, that's what she's all about. Black and whites are her favourite, but she always throws in a dash of colour to make her look complete. Encore! In her motorcycle pants and oversized boucle jacket she looks effortlessly cool. This winter R'Belle will give you a wink and a smile, she is going places. London, New York or Amsterdam? Destination unknown. They even allowed her some magic 'Gypsy Stardust' to sprinkle around and show of.
A Patchwork Girl in a Patchwork World
Spanish gypsies inspired Patchwork Girl with their layered nomad look. They showed her how to wear knits over knits on top of even more knits, in every shape and style.. It’s clear that R’Belle has been around the world and back again. The paint stains in her painter shirt tell her stories. Like first she joined the patchwork army. Fighting peaceful battles with her nomad friends, she really learned how to wear her camouflage although she is never afraid to shine in shimmering knits with fancy needlework. InSouth America she discovered the comfort and joy of heavy knitted ponchos and sun bleached colours, which keep her cheery and warm, even when the night falls and temperatures drop. Ancient Inca art was transferred to cute sweats to keep her company. Ultimately, her favourite motorcycle jacket and sheepskin body warmer make for the perfect combination to keep R’Belle super comfortable and cool!

Heading into Spring Summer 2011, "Maison Scotch, la femme selon Marie" presents a collection made with style, love and care. Every piece embodies female elegance represented by our dandelion logo. "La femme selon Marie" translates as "the interpretation of designer Marie, and how she visualizes today's women". In our design studio based in Amsterdam, "Magasin d'une collectionneuse", Maison Scotch puts all her effort into creating unique silhouettes. Along with creative designs, premium qualities, colours, labelling and attention to detail, add a hint of parisienne characteristics, it becomes the true DNA of Maison Scotch.
Bon Voyage
The dandelion seeds of our logo truly describe our journey in creating a collection. The seeds are carried away by the wind and travel like tiny parachutes around the world. Creating a collection feels like a road trip, gathering souvenirs, and writing down little notes along the way. Marie loves to wonder around antique markets looking for vintage treasures. The edgy street style of New York, the sophisticated refinement of Paris and the innovative designs seen in Japan, all these influences from all around the globe are used to define the characteristics of Maison Scotch. We believe in giving extra attention to all the little details which make each garment special.
Denim
Maison Scotch will always keep its Rock & Roll aesthetics and offer you eclectic denim pieces with a bohemian edge. Our aim for denim is to achieve a balance between female delicacy and a confident natural look. The creations are body-conscious, but still have surprising silhouettes. This summer we want to wear our "La Parisienne", the never-out-of-style skinny, or "Paris No2" and "Adorable Rebelle", the new cropped boyfriend-fit models. Also "Mademoiselle", the tapered slim and "Cinq-p", the 5-pocket straight are impor- tant for Maison Scotch. New, seasonal and lightweight are styles like "la Bohemienne", the harem pant and "Le Voyage", a relaxed beach pant. As you already know, once you are attached to your favourite denim, it's hard find a new pair of well worn jeans, they really get better and better by the years! That's why washing, fading, bleaching, tearing, cropping, tacking and repairing are key for our denims and will make you fall in love with them even more!

This season we launch our first 'Roadtrip Favourites' collection. A small white & indigo blue coloured collection in light weight soft textures made for a modern day gypsy. Our new classic peacoat, the duffelcoat & fine woolen blazers, all tailored for perfect fit, will keep you warm on summer nights. For our new collection we were inspired by old summery polaroids. Memories of great vacations near the sea, boat trips and parties at beach houses. Dancing in the wind and washed laundry pieces bleached by the sun gave us inspiration for summer dresses and tunics. We were also inspired by the Breton coast fishermen wearing their timeless striped sweaters and mermaid tattoos in the 3Os. Jean Paul Gaultier, Pablo Picasso and Coco Chanel made this stripe famous. We love to combine the stripe with our famous chino for a sexy yet rugged look with our skinny studded leather belt series. Sunlight, olive, coral, mineral, pearl, sandshell and stones create our colour palette. Antique lace & embroideries, fine dobby stripes & checks. Summer festival inspired printed t-shirt series, tie-dyed cropped bomber jackets, bleach sprayed chambray dresses, cotton linen slub tees, boucle-tweed blazers, trenchcoats, uniquely washed & repaired sweaters, maxi dresses, baggy shorts in ethnic prints, simply, it has never been more fun to go to the beach ! How to be an explorer
Mademoiselle R'Belle turns Mademoiselle Madness for a day, for a week or for the whole summer... Although this safari based theme mixes up bright pop colours with ethnic dessins, Scotch R'Belle keeps her cool. This theme really shows through in detailing and accessories. Even when the weather really heats up she just can not do without her beautiful scarf... Team jersey basics in hues of beach greys with authentic looking pyama pants to relax in, on sunday afternoons.
A tribe called quest
Modern day living for Global travellers. Tap into your bohemian spirit, throw on your backpack and head out for adventure. Inspired by an eclectic look, use elements from your travels to create your own distinct style. Enjoy the mix of functional utility details with bold printed tribal dessins in cargo shorts. Capture the India spirit in bright madras checked shirts worn with weathered denims or brave the elements in your must have khaki jacket.
For sunken treasure
Man up! This is a honest denim workwear look with nautical influences. An easy coloursceme of true blues and off whites with a hint of authentic red is highlighted by marine inspired stripes. Fresh, crisp and clean as the look might be, we have added some indigo blue and ecru whites to roughen up this nautical palette. From vision to fragrance: the essence of Scotch in a bottle
27 years of building and expanding their brand the creative team at Scotch & Soda have realized a long lived dream and proudly present their first perfume entitled BARFLY. The essence of Scotch & Soda, its desire of individuality and love of free spirits is now translated into a fragrance.
Much like the clothes the perfume has its own character and is full of details. The creative team had a strong idea about how Barfly should smell and the feeling it had to evoke terms like intense but simple, young and transparent had to be translated into a scent.
As the scent develops from its fresh top notes of citrus-herb to the middle notes of lavender and jasmine mixed with outspoken components such as Sandal and Cedar wood, it eventually settles down to reveal its warm base notes of musk and Mada- gaskar Vanilla. Typical of Scotch & Soda's design aesthetics this product stands out by its individuality, not only by its extraordinary and surprising scent but also by its name and product design.
With its no nonsense bottle carefully selected through vintage archives and crafted top with the fly logo embossed Barfly is a truly special edition to their growing brand.

Since 1985 the Scotch & Soda brand has grown from strength to strength, with creativity and individuality as the keys to success, this Amsterdam fashion brand maintains its very own way of doing business. Making the jump to a more refined aesthetic with the utmost in high-quality production, Scotch & Soda has recently updated their web presence. The new website will include not only regular updates with their new fully integrated blog system but a full-fledged web store as well.
The website was already nominated for site of the day on TheFWA.com platform and irie.be design website. It is a brand experience website where the consumer can explore and find new information about the brand with every unique visit. The site features various important aspects of the Dutch brand, including a worldwide store finder list and a look into their 2010 Winter Collection look book that links directly to the web store. An impressive format that makes navigation reasonably easy.
The new lifestyle blog will talk about Scotch & Soda, Amsterdam and fashion and will be updated several times a week. It gives the brand the opportunity to have a voice and to show the consumer what Scotch & Soda considers cool and important on a regular basis. At the beginning of September, Scotch & Soda re-launched its web store with a new fresh look and up to date technology including Facebook connect and share. On the web store consumers can find more products, sizes and colors than in the stores offline.
Scotch & Soda believes that online presence and its ability to command to a much larger audience has become both a necessity and natural progression for the growing brand.

New York Store Opening
Since 1985 the Scotch & Soda brand has grown from strength to strength, with creativity and individuality as the keys to success, this Amsterdam fashion brand maintains its very own way of doing business.
Scotch & Soda celebrates an expansion of their acclaimed clothing brand with yet another retail space, this time a new flagship store in the heart of New York City. Bringing over the brand's signature style from Amsterdam to the US, the opening of Scotch & Soda New York City marks yet another key chapter in the Scotch success story.
The new retail venture for the Dutch brand plays home to a wide range of items from the collection, and also offers for the first time in the USA Maison Scotch, which is Scotch & Soda's popular female collection, already a huge hit in Europe. The shop does an impressive job of translating the brand's vision into a beautifully designed space with sleek glass cabinetry and warm wood decor.
The opening of the store was marked by an official US launch party on 21st September 2010 which received positive reviews from both the guests and the press.

The History
Scotch & Soda was founded in 1985 and has since become what it is today. After many successful years of Scotch Mens & Kids we decided it was time to create a women's collection made with the same love, care and personal style. From the house of Scotch & Soda a new line is born, Maison Scotch, la femme selon Marie. This new design-studio is also based in Amsterdam. "Magasin d'une collectionneuse". Uniquely detailed and designed we proudly present to you our first Women's collection Summer 2010!
Our Philosophy
Like her big brother Scotch & Soda, Maison Scotch puts all her effort in creating innovative styles, fabrics, dessins & labels. The dandelion logo stands for female elegancy. La femme selon Marie translates as "the interpretation of Designer Marie, and how she vizualizes today's woman". Influences from all around the world are the characteristics for Maison Scotch. It has been like a roadtrip full of ideas. We used our own lovely summer days memories as inspiration for this collection. For us mixing is the key-word. Gathering souvenirs, old postcards, photo's & books, collecting delicate embroideries and richly handmade fabrics from antique shops.
Maison Scotch will offer you eclectic pieces with a bohemian denim edge. The creations are body-conscious whilst using comfortable fabrics in innovative designs & colours. Surprising silhouettes, refined detailing & labelling are the DNA of Maison Scotch.This is a line which maintains Scotch's Rock and Roll aesthetic.
All these elements combine to create collectable authentic items with a tinge of french artistic character. The French refinement and sense of style gives the collection a sophisticated and detailed look.

School is out or at least... no books today!! retro classic sportswear meets streetwear for some outside fun with classmates. champs feel comfortable with sporty track jackets, signature sweats, easy jogging pants and sturdy rugby socks. reversible college jackets make sure they are fresh at any time.
the primary but washed-out colours from the sports theme easily go with the preppy look as well. nerds are cool again as long as they play along! old english college inspirations are visible in stripe designs and details like checked ties and bowties. Indian Surf Dust
live and love life! this part of the country is a habitat for wave riders and dreamers. colours are definitely setting the mood here. Brights, straight from India are mixed up with surf pastels and Scotch Shrunk offers its well-known chino's and polo's in the same variety. next to this explosion of colours, designs are playing their part. all-over hawaiian prints & ethnic graphics and hand painted texts on (reversible) jackets, in-betweens, polo's, tees and shorts easily create the feeling of freedom. Show off with a special edition. Shrunk airbed or skimboard and... keep surfing!!
Ranch Racing
Grass is not just for grazing! tough biker boys are shaking up the countryside, using the dirty roads and the abandoned meadows as their playfield. these riders stand out by their leather jackets, tees with rock prints & rebel statements and roughed up denims. the colour scheme is distinctive as well; black, white and grey tones with a few bright coloured details. music Festivals are organised where the guys reveal a bit of their hippy heritage; authentic flower designs are found on their western shirts as they lie back in the hay and enjoy their freedom. Highlights
Winter is arriving and we are about to enter it! Travelling to different places, times and even to different galax- ies, Scotch Shrunk has gathered all their experiences and adventures and captured this in four themes for the new Fall/Winter 2010 collection.
Where's my castle??
Far...far...away..in the land of Scotch Shrunk there is a place where everyone can party, rest and enjoy them- selves... Feel like the lord of the castle, being dandy is no shame! The eco style is visible in printed flannels and natural off-white fabrics. Preppy lace and rich embroideries are found in the details. The shirts are full of tiny flowers, mostly in autumn colours. The guys dress themselves up in tailored jackets with their ties or even bow-ties and are getting ready for the bal masqu�!
Cowboys & Angels
Here it is all about the contrast, rough goes together with soft. Light pastels are mixed with deep indigo printed T-shirts. The guys are wearing their big-check shirts like a real cowboy should! Shrunk offers basic tees and indigo-detailed polo's in easy colours and beautiful qualities. Rough boys are showing their softer sides by wearing their roughed-up denims with subtle dip-dyed heavy-knitted pulls, hats, gloves and scarves. Light-weight knits go together with chunky knits! Heavy crack prints are used, but also super refined embroideries are presented in the details.
Livin' out Loud!
The African Razzmatazz rocks...and the tribals go round and round. A new art is created, where warm deep colours, bright colours and graphic black/white prints go hand-in-hand perfectly. MC hammer's travelling pants are ready to conquer the world again, but this time with an ethnic twist. Knitted multi-coloured pullovers are worn by the rockabillies and studded belts rock anyway! Fun colours are used in the cool corduroy pants. The message is clear, strong and straight-to-the-point, this shows in the "smart" lines in the bright colour-blocked T-shirts. Battle Star Galactica
Scotch Shrunk always has a little rebellious side. Anti-heroes rise up and show yourselves! In this galaxy the sports are fast and full of action, you can even see the speed in the artworks! The snow dust touches the bright colours with shades of grey. Big photo prints with spacemen are found on tees and pulls. Shrunk has also provided all the gear you will need to race in space, skateboards, helmets and Shrunk X-ray goggles are things you cannot live without here. Glow-in-the-dark scarves light up the galaxy! Boom! Pow!

Summer Collection 2010
Uniquely detailed and designed with love we present our Summer 2010 collection. Influences from all over the world are taken to achieve a diverse look which is characteristic for this collection. Scotch offers surprising new silhouettes and fits, authentic distressed washes, fresh colours, and outstanding graphics. The Scotch brand DNA, old school with a spicy twist and awesome detailing, is recognizable in each. Up for the surf/ Down with the beach garment.
The mood of this theme is inspired by the story of a guy, a scavenger, who sees himself as an artist. He has lived on the beach forever, collecting shells and recycling “treasures” which have been washed upon the shore. He meets up with the modern day kite- and wind surfers who prefer their technical gadgets and bright colours to show off in. In the mix of this, vintage surf graphics clash with modern day technical surf gear to create an updated feel. Enjoy retro spirit in fresh colour combinations, worked out technical windbreaker jackets, beach hoodies, funky flower swimshorts and sunbleached tees. Get ready for summer colours such as: vibrant green, sunny yellow, warm peach colours, ultra violet and hints of fluo.
Vintage legion/ Pattagonian heights
Think gaucho's and rough outdoorsy types, take the background of Patagonian highlands in summertime and you will have all the ingredients needed for a survival picnic. Clothing is based on vintage utility garments and translated into a look for everyday life. Authentic workwear and military shirt jackets, are worn together with checked scarves, oversized parka jackets and dusty leather boots. With a nod to rodeo styling, our hero walks in the woods. Washed out military colours combined with soft pastel tones and romantic flower dessins, make this rugged look suitable for summer.
City shades/ From dusk till dawn
Bohemian living for modern day rockers. When romance takes a devilish twist, the mood becomes sophisticated, bold, ethnic, and romantic all in one. Muted tones and sunset colours, are spiced up with dessins full of eastern promise. Think rich handprinted silk linings for blazers with floral dessins. Lightweight knits and slub jerseys in a relaxed silhouette are worn together with chambray shorts and leather moccasins. We also offer an addittional basic t-shirt programme, which includes super lightweight, soft jerseys in a range of sophisticated colours. Add an abundance of leather and antiqued metal “bali” bracelets to complete this look.
Varsity blues/ The revolution on dirt
A new take on the existing college look with indigo dyed qualities with washed outlook and bleached out dessins to achieve a relaxed vintage Americana feeling. Think clean cut varsity boys on a summer break, working on their dirtbikes and cruising in their muscle cars. Team roughed up denims together with authentic track jackets and reworked original racing tees. Don't forget to dress up again before going back to class. Wear a lightweight slub chambrey or oxford shirt together with a white slim fit denim. Adding a smart blazer with worked out details and rolled up sleeves will give you a playful approach to true college dressing.
Sunday Riders/ Traveling Novelties
A city guy, on a break from rush hour, going off the beaten tracks and taking a trip down memory lane. Go back to nature with an organic tailored look totally redone in neutrals. An underwear inspired granddad tee, worn together with a cotton linen beach cardigan, contrasted by a whitewashed leather biker jacket to give this look and edge.
